Scenic Dives Scotland - Firth of Clyde |
|
| Little Cumbra A delightful setting for those wishing to do scenic dives in Scotland, with views to Bute, Arran and Millport the scenery is outstanding and all within an hour of the departure point. The diving is terrific also with visibility often exceeding 6m-8m giving the diving enthusiast excellent conditions for viewing the marine life that's on offer. There are often reports on how the Clyde is dark & gloomy for diving which I think is undeserved. In the deep wrecks conditions are very dark, however having dived in waters all around the island I have found in scenic dives around the 10-20 meter range the water is bright and clear on most occasions and very enjoyable for beginners. in fact my first ever dive was on little cumbrae in great conditions and from then on I was hooked. There no doubt that little cumbrae is one of the highlights of the clyde. Expertise Required: Intermediate to Advanced |

| Trail Island A terrific dive site with a series of drop offs and sandstone ledges around the 15m - 40m mark. The selection of marine life on show is always terrific with cuckoo wrasse, ballan wrasse, kelp forests and shoals of sprats often in attendance. This dive can be trully spectacular on bright clear days when the visibilty can be in excess of 8 metres. An added bonus is the frequent presence of grey seals who often hang around the dive site expressing their interest in the divers, quite a site. Watch out for the currents 3 hours after high tide Expertise Required: Intermediate to Advanced |
